Athens is an incredible city where ancient history feels alive on every corner. Walking up to the Acropolis is a must-do, the views are spectacular. The city is very walkable, and the people are so welcoming.
Loved the Plaka District
Absolutely loved getting lost in the winding streets of the Plaka district. It's full of small shops and cafes. The souvlaki from the street vendors is simple but so delicious. A great place to just wander for hours.
So Much History to See
Athens has so much to see beyond the main sites. The National Archaeological Museum is packed with amazing artifacts. It really helps you understand the scale of history here. Everything felt well-organized and accessible.
Fun Shopping and Easy to Get Around
The Monastiraki Flea Market was a fun experience, so many interesting things to look at. It's a great spot to find unique souvenirs. The city feels very safe and easy to navigate using the metro.
Great Food and Nightlife
The food scene is fantastic! Had some incredible moussaka in a little tavern in the Psiri neighborhood. This area really comes alive at night with lots of cool bars and places to hang out. It's a very social city.
Incredible City Views
Climbing up Mount Lycabettus for sunset was a highlight. You can see the whole city spread out below, all the way to the sea. It puts everything into perspective. A truly memorable view of a wonderful city.
